La Última Puerta (The Ninth Gate)
La Última Puerta, La afición de Boris Balkan (Frank Langella, ‘Delitos menores’) es coleccionar libros satánicos. Como quiere hacerse con dos ejemplares únicos de un manual legendario de invocación satánica: «Las Nueve Puertas del Reino de las Sombras», decide contratar al enigmático Dean Corso (Johnny Depp, ‘Eduardo Manostijeras’) para que se haga con ellos. Corso es un bibliófilo empedernido y una persona muy minuciosa en su trabajo, que nunca pierde los nervios. Sin embargo, el viaje que iniciará pondrá a prueba su estoica profesionalidad, sumergiéndose en una oscura trama llena de laberintos sin salida, peligros aterradores y muchas sorpresas inesperadas.
Roman Polanski toma las riendas de este proyecto, basado libremente en ‘El Club Dumas’, la novela de Arturo Pérez-Reverte, con un guión de Enrique Urbizu.
Dean Corso (Johnny Depp) trabaja de forma confidencial, con sumo cuidado, dotado de una sólida cultura, nervios de acero y pocos escrúpulos. Su reputación le ha servido para recibir la llamada de Boris Balkan (Frank Langella), un apasionado de los textos demoníacos que quiere encontrar los dos últimos libros del legendario manual de invocación satánica De umbrarum regni novem portis: Las nueve puertas del Reino de las Sombras. De Nueva York a Toledo y de París a Sintra, Corso se verá inmerso en un laberinto lleno de peligro, tentaciones, aterradoras sorpresas, violencia y muertes inesperadas.
