Guerra Mundial Z, Cuando el mundo comienza a ser invadido por una legión de muertos vivientes, Gerry Lane, un experto investigador de las Naciones Unidas, intentará evitar el fin de la civilización en una carrera contra el tiempo y el destino. La destrucción a la que se ve sometida la raza humana lo lleva a recorrer el mundo entero buscando la solución para frenar esa horrible epidemia.
Adaptación del libro de Max Brooks que cuenta la historia de Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) un reputado investigador de las Naciones Unidas que se ve envuelto de repente en un apocalipsis zombi. Después de ser llevado a un portaaviones del ejército, Gerry recibirá la misión de averiguar el origen del virus que está destruyendo la humanidad a pasos agigantados. Deberá viajar a Jerusalén, último lugar del que se tienen registros del virus que dio origen a la pandemia. Aquí comenzará una carrera contrarreloj que Gerry tendrá que ganar si quiere salvaguardar el futuro de una humanidad que está siendo devastada por unos seres rabiosos que parecen tener su origen en un virus diseñado y propagado por los seres humanos.
Max Brooks es hijo del conocido director Mel Brooks y la premiada actriz Anne Bancroft. Dirige Marc Foster (‘Monster’s Ball’, ‘Quantum of Solace’), y en el reparto, encontramos los nombres de Brad Pitt (‘El curioso caso de Benjamin Buttom’), Bryan Cranston (‘Breaking Bad’), James Bagde Dale (‘The Pacific’) y Mireille Enos (‘The Killing’).
